The majority of my paintings are of actual rock writing sites.
Venus Rising is a bit different. Inspired by a combination petroglyph and pictograph site in Wisconsin, "Woman Carrying Petroglyphs,on the colorful, sandstone rock face she is stooped over carrying a load of carvings.
Although the original rock writing and its setting is most beautiful, in this piece I have chosen to take her to a new level in a show of strength and feminine celebration.
