This piece is inspired by a pictograph panel from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota.
It is said the Maemaegwashi live in the rock faces along the waterways. This is their homeland.
It is said a word of respect, and perhaps a pinch of tobacco, may bring favor as you pass their way.
