This painting was inspired by a petroglyph (carving in rock) panel
at the Jeffers Petroglyph Site in southwestern Minnesota.
This is an excellent publicly accessible site where people from the Midwestern United States
can visit, experience a petroglyph site on their own, and the beautiful prairie environment that is its home.
