This piece is inspired by a petroglpyh panel of
of southwestern Wisconsin. What makes this piece
particularly special is that the site no longer exists.
It fell from its soft sandstone rock shelter in the late 1980's.
Thanks to the consent of a good friend who was fortunate to have
been there before this happened, I was able to use her photos to
recall the site in this painted form. I find it a most graceful
and peaceful image, and hope to have reflected that delicate essence
in this painting.
