2008 Symposium in

Farmington, New Mexico this May

I got to visit several sites along Largo Canyon in San Juan and Rio Arriba Counties, New Mexico.  This panel is one of the main ones in Crow or Cuervo Canyon.

The figure next to the corn plant probably represents Ghanaskidi, the Hump-backed God.

Another canyon in the Largo Drainage area is Delgadito. Although many of the images in this drainage area are petroglyphs you may sometimes find some incredibly beautiful and details pictographs like this panel from Delgadito Canyon. Again the figure on the left probably represents Ghanaskidi.

These two panels are some of the ones from a site that is sometimes called the Blanco Star Site because and is attributed to the Gobernador Phase.  The first panel contains figures that probably represent a ye'i, a bat, a coyote, a coiled rattle snake and other figures.  The tracks probably are rabbit tracks.  The second panel is called the star panel and the patterns may represent certain constellations.
